Earlier this year, Municipal Mayor Josephine M. Bangsil received the National Award for being the 2nd place performer in Government Efficiency Pillar under the 1st-2nd Class Municipalities category of the 2024 CMCI National Awards Ceremony held on 23 August 2024 at the historic Manila Hotel in Ermita, Manila. During the 11th Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) Recognition Ceremony held on 11 December 2024 in Baguio City, Luna was once again recognized for this achievement.
In addition to this accolade, Luna was awarded “Best in Documentation” for the 2024 CMCI, highlighting its meticulous and organized approach in presenting its achievements. Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator (MPDC) Milflorence A. Villafuerte, Business Permit and Licensing Officer (BPLO) Ar-jay O. Cachero, and Local Economic and Development Investment Promotion Officer (LEDIPO) Marthalyn S. Gacias proudly accepted the awards on behalf of the Municipal Local Government Unit (MLGU).
The CMCI, spearheaded by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), assesses local government units across the country based on their performance in four pillars: Government Efficiency, Economic Dynamism, Resiliency, and Infrastructure. Luna’s recognition in Government Efficiency reflects its strong focus on providing streamlined services, fostering transparency, and promoting accountability.
The Municipal Mayor expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for their collective efforts and dedication to governance, stating, “These awards are a testament to the hard work and unity of our local government and community. We will continue to strive for excellence in serving our constituents and building a competitive municipality.”
These achievements position Luna as a model of good governance, inspiring other municipalities to aim for similar success in delivering efficient and inclusive services to their citizens.
