BAGUIO CITY – Luna was once again recognized for its outstanding disaster preparedness and resilience as it received the Gawad KALASAG Seal of Excellence (Fully Compliant) for the eighth time during the 24th Gawad KALASAG Seal and Special Awards ceremony held today at the Ion Hotel, Legarda Road, Baguio City.

The award was conferred by the Office of Civil Defense – Cordillera Administrative Region (OCD-CAR), acknowledging Luna’s consistent efforts in promoting disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM) at the local level.

Municipal Mayor Josephine M. Bangsil and MDRRMO Jomar B. Bragas personally received the prestigious award on behalf of the municipality. The recognition highlights Luna’s unwavering commitment to building a safer, disaster-resilient community through proactive DRRM initiatives.

The Gawad KALASAG (KAlamidad at SAkuna LAbanan, SAriling Galing ang Kaligtasan) Seal is the country’s premier recognition for excellence in disaster risk reduction and management and humanitarian assistance, given to LGUs, organizations, and institutions that exhibit exemplary practices in DRRM.
