Luna, Apayao – The municipality of Luna was recognized as one of the outstanding LGU respondents by the Philippine Statistics Authority–Cordillera (PSA-CAR) for its support during the 2024 data collection activities for the Provincial Product Accounts (PPA) through the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS).
The commendation was shared by Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator (MPDC) Milflorence Villafuerte during the regular flag-raising ceremony held on October 20 at the BGV Jr. Gymnasium.
The recognition, she said, highlights the LGU’s commitment to accurate data collection and strong partnership with national statistical agencies.
In an interview with Luna PIO, Villafuerte emphasized the importance of reliable data in achieving efficient, effective, and inclusive government planning.
“Let’s continue doing our part because CBMS is important in evidence-based planning. Through CBMS, we can see the needs of our communities—the areas lacking water, health services, and other essentials. It serves as our poverty map, helping us identify the right interventions. We need CBMS results for planning purposes, so our projects, programs, and activities are properly directed to those who truly need them,” she said.
The CBMS is a nationwide, technology-based system for collecting, processing, and validating disaggregated data at the local level to support poverty alleviation and development planning.
