Joint Validation Conducted for Marag Valley Irrigation Projects
𝐍𝐈𝐀-𝐈𝐌𝐎, 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐋𝐆𝐔 𝐋𝐮𝐧𝐚 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐠 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐲
To initially assess and validate the proposed irrigation projects in Marag Valley, personnel of the National Irrigation Administration- Apayao Irrigation Management Office (NIA-IMO), with Congresswoman Hon. Eleanor Bulut-Begtang and Mayor Januario S. Garde, gathered together in the conduct of preliminary engineering, agro-economic, environmental, and hydrological data gathering and evaluation activity.
The said process is critical in the establishment of irrigation projects that are technically feasible, economically viable, environmentally sound, and responsive to the needs of the community, especially the farming sector.
Through the full cooperation of the Punong Barangays of Marag, Cagandugan, and Calabigan, the on-site visit to the specified potential areas for establishment was successfully evaluated.
